Caregiver Resources We Didn't Know Existed

I like to beat up on the web for not having the information I want regarding mom's 2 types of dementia.  Actually, there is plenty of information, the challenge is finding relevant, non-mind numbing info.  I have included posts that have helped both me and my sister.

When we switched the look of our blog, we lost the links to websites we like.  Oops.  So here's a few, we will post more.

Maria Shriver's website is mind-blowing.  From the Shriver Report on Alzheimer's to poignant, inspirational blog posts, to take action and take care tidbits for caregivers, I have found Shriver's website a lifesaver.

Alzheimer's Association has a 24 hour hotline, information on Alzheimer's Walks, emails and phone numbers to contact members of Congress for legislation to help prevent, treat and cure Alzheimer's.  Kinda a one-stop shop.

Alzheimer's Reading Room I have found this website informative and illuminating.  It focuses on the entire community - focusing on Alzheimers, medical science, wellness and the art of caregiving.

I have found Howard Glick's blog very enlightening from the perspective of the person who has dementia.  Not all dementias are the same.  Howard is someone living with fronto-temperal dementia, which is different than Alzheimer's.  Our mom has been diagnosed with both FTD and early onset Alzheimer's.  It's good to know what's going on in her head, not just trying to figure out.

What websites have you found helpful?  Please post in comments.  Thanks for being in the cybersphere.
